Who Gaines?: General Edmund P. Gaines and the Naming of Gainesville by Marinus H. Latour and Dr. Mark V. Barrow Sr, Md, PhD

Marinus H. Latour was an electrical engineering professor at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Latour was active in the Matheson History (then called Matheson Historical Center) and was President for two terms. He gave several presentations to the Alachua County Historical Society, one of which was on General Edmund P. Gaines, namesake of Gainesville, Florida. 

In 1993, Latour wrote a paper about General Gaines, but never published it. 

Now, Latour's studies appear in print for the first time, asking the question "Who Gaines?"
